It was a sudden occurrence me coming by this game and am I glad it happened. I'm a sucker for boomer shooters and the game did not disappoint. If you're interested in a more fleshed-out review, I have my thoughts laid out at the end of the video.

Also for what Decahertz said, I haven't come across anything malicious with the game files; my protection software hasn't flagged anything noteworthy. Seems to be a false positive.

It contains a virus that steals your browser cache called "cached<hti>!e151f2f4" which is a shame because it looks like a very good game and exactly what I was looking for. If you play it I recommend playing it on a virtual machine.

That's weird. I'll look into what might cause it. Might be a quirk of gamemaker

This is really good bro, hella impressive.  And you made it in GM, gwhich is even more impressive.   Maybe this would be against the type of game but adding controller support maybe, would make a great steam deck game too.  - Last level needs some balancing, huge spike in difficulty, it a battle just to reach the last boss then you sweat to take the mech down then a man pops out of no where with even more heath, at that point i was out of ammo and low on health.

I haven't tried the last level yet, I do second that this game is superb. The audio and tactile gunplay is so crisp.

100% this, awesome game, but this last level is just a bit silly. Playing on hard and having to redo the 3 mech to get the keys over, and over, and over just to get to the actual last boss is very exhausting, but not in a fun kind of way.
I swear most of my attempts at him I simply run out of ammo unless there is a secret in there I'm missing.
I don't mind the boss being hard, but the tedious mech fights at the start wears this down fast. Pretty much all other levels are awesome, even the difficult ones.
Any tips on him at all? as currently I'm completely stuck and don't think I can finish it haha.

Tried another 4 hours... anyone actually managed to beat the last boss on Veteran? I can't see anyone online who has done it... feels broken.

That would be amazing! Like I said before, the rest of the game is super tight! Been loving the game on Veteran so far, even some of the levels which are rock hard, but they were all possible and I always felt like I could do them. Just this last one that feels impossible for me, even trying to save up all the best ammo for the boss, taking down the 3 mechs with the machine gun and autorifle and still can't seem to do the the guy coming out of the last mech haha

As you requested I separated the last level into two parts.

Complete all levels, except "Final encounter" - very hardcore map with an incredibly strong boss. Any tactical advice?

hey are we allowed to mod this game (with credit of course) in the same vain as doom modding?

well I would allow it but its a game maker game and fully compiled, doesn't really support modding.

Wolfenstein-styled game, but themed by WWI.

When I finished the Artillery Depot level in chapter 1, I got a perfect score, but when I pressed exit, there was a code error. Details below.

Really fine game. Whole time I was thinking: this would be so much cooler with collateral kills and mid-level saves. Other than that, very solid.

Lacking some barks from the enemies, they move in complete silence until they start shooting.

if "dead cold" is episode 3, then what is "breakout"?

Like as Wolfenstein3D, but more dynamic and fast gameplay. Thank for work, waiting for release.

Lots of real life things to take care of.

The fast pace, striking feel, and trenches are well expressed.

A good representation of shooting games from the 80s and 90s.

Bullets hurt so much in this game you feel alive ! Soundtrack is fire !

Option for rebinding keys for weapons or even just mouse scroll would be nice.

This game was great! The guns were fun, the sound design and music were both super fun, and the level design was fun to explore.  My only issue is that when I got to what I presume was the final level/boss, the game proceeded to freeze completely after a minute or two of running around, requiring me to restart the game. This happened three times. The first two times it seemed to happen in the same place, near the line of helmets along the back wall of the arena. 

I have no way to tell if this was the actual final level, as I can't progress past it to check.  Regardless, it was a good experience! I hope that I can get some advice on how to bypass this bug so I can see it through to the end.

Was it in episode 1 or 2?

Sounds like a bug with the collision code. Ill check it out right away

Ok all fixed now. It was a problem with enemy pathfinding going out of bounds.

this is a really well made game, with doom style gameplay that is modernised to feel much more polished and slick and pretty good enviorment for that retro feel

as a gamedev i am shocked by how u was able to make good simple 3d in gamemaker which is primarily  a 2d engine and im glad that i donated to a really good game.

also as a gamedev the idea i had involving similer doom controls in ww1 is out the window as someone allready done it XD

ALSO word of advice prob better to add the internal levels in each chapter to be replayble my menu

AND also addd a quick swap with the q and e keys as pressing the numpad feels annoying when i want to change weapons quick

Very cool I am back for chapter 2! It would be nice to have a restart level option at the end of a level in case you miss a secret or want to get a better run.

Nice polish. Would like quickload though.

Sorry to reply so late, just try tapping "L" and see if that works, i had some old leftover key rebinding code that i didnt clean up.

the revolver's double action delay is a nice touch

I literally fell in love in an hour.

The sound design and overall appearance are just incredible.

I like this absolutely genius delay after pulling the trigger of a revolver, for me it's a killer feature!

But I had one problem with finishing the first level. After clicking "Continue" it restarted me, but after I restarted the game it fixed.

As for feedback, i pressed R, it thrown me in the menu, i try to continue it restarts the level , losing progress,  :(
